When the housing market was correcting in 2007 and agents seemed to be doing all they could to avoid short sales (they are time consuming) John saw underwater homeowners in need of help to avoid foreclosure. He sought out training from a former head loss mitigator of a large national bank and began to focus the majority of his time working with short sales and helping home owners avoid foreclosure as well as helping buyers understand the short sale process and guiding them through the process of buying pre-foreclosure property.
John was an inaugural Ambassador to Helping a Million Homeowners, a campaign launched in 2008 to encourage real estate agents to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. As a member of the Short Sale Genius network, John gained designations recognizing the he has been specially trained to negotiate short sales and has successfully closed more than 100 short sales. John has been trained by a former Head Loss Mitigator of the HELOC division of IndyMac bank who was a pivotal force in creation of the Short Sale Genius Network as well as launching the CDAT (Certified Default Advocate Training) designation and training program.
